How To Make Masala Pongal













REQUIRED ITEMS:

Oil                                        ----- as required
Ghee                                    ----- as required
Bengal gram                         ----- 2 spoons
Black gram                           ----- 2 spoons
Cashew nuts                         ----- 1/2 cup
Pepper powder                     ----- 2 spoons
Cloves                                  ----- 2
Cinnamon                             ----- small pieces
Ginger                                  ----- small piece
Garlic pieces                        ----- 1/2 cup
Green chillies                       ----- 2 or 3
Salt                                     ----- as required
Coriander leaves                 ----- 1/2 cup
Rice                                    ----- 2 cups
Moong dal                          ----- 1 cup
Water                                 ----- 3 cups

PROCEDURE: 
  1.  Take a cooker and heat it for 2 sec.
  2. Add 4 spoons of oil in it.
  3. Heat it for 2 sec.
  4. Add 3 spoons of ghee also in it.
  5. Add black gram, bengal gram in it.
  6. Add cashew nuts, cloves, cinnamon and pepper seeds in it.
  7. Take a cup and take ginger pieces, garlic pieces, pepper seeds, salt, green chillies in it.
  8. Make all into a thick paste and add to the cooker.
  9. Mix well.
  10. Wash rice and moong dal in separate bowls.
  11. Add washed rice and moong dal in the cooker.
  12. Mix it and add 3 cups of water in it.
  13. Mix once and add sufficient salt in it.
  14. Put a lid on it and also the weight.
  15. Cook it till 4 whistles comes.
  16. After 4 whistles has come, make the stove off.
  17. Wait for 15 min.
  18. After 15 min, remove the weight and open the lid.
  19. Mix once and add 3 spoons of ghee in it.
  20. Now take pongal into a bowl and serve it by garnishing with coriander leaves.
  21. Now you are ready with masala pongal infront on you.
  22. Eat and enjoy the very tasty and delicious rice item masala pongal.
